Guide - Choose the size Z'Anorak

STEP 1 - Find the size based on sleeve length

Identify the size whose sleeve length is closest to your dog's sleeve length.

  • MIN Sleeve : Corresponds to the folded sleeve length.
  • MAX Sleeve : Corresponds to the regular sleeve length..

STEP 2 - Check the chest

Ensure that your dog's chest circumference + 4cm is below the MAX chest measurement on the chart for the size chosen in Step 1. If so, proceed to Step 3.

  • MAX Chest : Corresponds to the chest measurement of the coat. If your dog's chest circumference + 4cm exceeds this value, the coat may be too tight and/or restrict movement. In this case, choose the next size up. Note that choosing a larger size will increase the sleeve length. Ensure that the new sleeve length remains acceptable for your dog.

STEP 3 - Confirm the size with back measurement

The back measurement can sometimes be difficult to take and may lead to errors. Once Steps 1 and 2 are completed, use the back length to confirm your size choice.

  • MAX Back : Corresponds to the length of the coat.

Your dog's back length should ideally be close to the chart values. If your dog's back is much shorter than the MIN value, the coat may slide backward (a "Yo" style), which may not be practical in the snow.

You can also validate the size by comparing the chart measurement to your dog's back length from the base of the tail while lifting it. If the measurement roughly matches the back of the front leg, it is a good indication that the size is correct.

Note: If, after these steps, you cannot find a suitable size, it is possible that your dog has proportions that do not fit our current models, especially if your dog has an atypical build.

Quick Guide:

A doodle or poodle of:

  • 38-42 lbs will likely wear a size 4 or 5 Z'Anorak.
  • 43-49 lbs will likely wear a size 5 or 6 Z'Anorak.
  • 50-55 lbs will likely wear a size 6 Z'Anorak.
  • 60-65 lbs will likely wear a size 6 or 7 Z'Anorak.
  • 65-75 lbs will likely wear a size 7 or 8 Z'Anorak.

Generally, doodles with more "Golden" genetics will wear the MIN folded sleeves. Poodles, or doodles with a more "poodle-like" appearance, will usually wear the standard MID sleeve.

Keep in mind that the thickness of your dog's fur may influence the sleeve height, but this should not be the determining factor for the size.
