Attention!

First of all, make sure that...

Our coats are suitable for your dog's breed

Certain breeds with shorter legs, a broad chest, or a very short neck, such as French Bulldogs, Dachshunds, Shih Tzus, and similar breeds, may not have proportions that are ideally suited to our coats.

Your dog is still growing

For the coat to stay properly in place during your dog's movements, it must be snugly fitted between all four legs. If the coat is too large, the rear sleeves will sit too far back on your dog's body and may come loose as your dog walks.

Measure your dog

3 simple steps

1 - Sleeve

  1. Position the measuring tape - Start at the top of one front leg, placing it just above the foot.
  2. Go through the withers - Stretch the tape through the withers (the highest point of the shoulders).
  3. Finish on the other front leg - Continue the measurement to the top of the other foot.
  4. Calculate the final length - Divide the resulting measurement by 2 to obtain the required sleeve length.

Tip: Make sure your dog is in a natural, upright position for an accurate measurement.

2 - The Chest

  1. Locate the widest part of the chest - This part is usually just behind your dog's front legs.
  2. Measure the chest circumference - Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of the chest. Make sure the tape fits snugly, without overtightening or leaving excessive play.
  3. Z'Anorak and Z'Arctic - Add 4cm for ease

Tip: For an accurate measurement, make sure your dog is standing, straight, and in a natural position.

3 - Measure the length of the back

  1. Start at the base of the tail - Gently lift your dog's tail to find the starting point, where the tail meets the body.
  2. Measure to the withers - Using a tape measure, follow the line of the spine down to the withers, the highest point of the shoulders, in line with the back of the front legs.

Tip: Make sure your dog is upright with his head in a neutral position to get an accurate measurement. The length of the back should not change depending on the position of your dog's head.

Guide to Choosing the Right Coat Size for Your Dog

By chosen model

In video - How to choose the size
The Z'Hoodie

STEP 1 - Find the size based on sleeve length

We recommend choosing the MID sleeve length. Identify the size whose sleeve length is closest to your dog's sleeve length.

  • MIN Sleeve: Corresponds to the sleeve length when folded, about the width of the wrist.
  • MID Sleeve: Corresponds to the standard length of the coat.
  • MAX Sleeve: Indicates the maximum length for dogs with long legs.

STEP 2 - Check the chest

Ensure that your dog's chest circumference falls between the MIN and MAX chest values on the chart for the size chosen in Step 1. If so, proceed to Step 3.

  • MIN Chest: Represents the minimum measurement of the coat. If your dog's chest circumference is below this measurement, the coat may be too loose.
  • MAX Chest: Corresponds to the maximum chest measurement of the coat when stretched. If your dog's chest circumference exceeds this value, the coat may be too tight, giving your dog a "sausage" look. In this case, choose the next size up. Note that choosing a larger size will increase the sleeve length. Ensure that the sleeve length remains acceptable for your dog.

STEP 3 - Confirm the size with back measurement

The back measurement can sometimes be difficult to take and may lead to errors. Once Steps 1 and 2 are completed, use the back length to confirm your size choice.

  • MIN Back: Corresponds to the minimum (unstretched) length of the coat.
  • MAX Back: Corresponds to the maximum (stretched) length of the coat.

Your dog's back length should ideally fall within the chart values. If your dog's back is shorter than the MIN value, the coat may slide backward (a "Yo" style), which may not be practical in the snow.

You can also validate the size by comparing the chart measurements to your dog's back length from the base of the tail while lifting it. If the measurement roughly matches the back of the front leg, it is a good indicator that the size is correct.

Note: If, after these steps, you cannot find a suitable size, it is possible that your dog has proportions that do not fit our current models, especially if your dog has an atypical build.

Quick Guide:

A doodle or poodle of:

  • 35-42 lbs will likely wear a size 4 Z'Hoodie.
  • 43-49 lbs will likely wear a size 4 or 5 Z'Hoodie.
  • 50-55 lbs will likely wear a size 5 Z'Hoodie, but possibly also a size 6.
  • 60-80 lbs (up to 100 lbs) will generally wear a size 6 Z'Hoodie.

Generally, doodles with more "Golden" genetics will wear the MIN folded sleeves. Poodles, or doodles with a more "poodle-like" appearance, will usually wear the standard MID sleeve.

Keep in mind that the thickness of your dog's fur may influence the sleeve height, but this should not be the determining factor for the size.

The Z'Anorak

STEP 1 - Find the size based on sleeve length

Identify the size whose sleeve length is closest to your dog's sleeve length.

  • MIN Sleeve : Corresponds to the folded sleeve length.
  • MAX Sleeve : Corresponds to the regular sleeve length..

STEP 2 - Check the chest

Ensure that your dog's chest circumference + 4cm is below the MAX chest measurement on the chart for the size chosen in Step 1. If so, proceed to Step 3.

  • MAX Chest : Corresponds to the chest measurement of the coat. If your dog's chest circumference + 4cm exceeds this value, the coat may be too tight and/or restrict movement. In this case, choose the next size up. Note that choosing a larger size will increase the sleeve length. Ensure that the new sleeve length remains acceptable for your dog.

STEP 3 - Confirm the size with back measurement

The back measurement can sometimes be difficult to take and may lead to errors. Once Steps 1 and 2 are completed, use the back length to confirm your size choice.

  • MAX Back : Corresponds to the length of the coat.

Your dog's back length should ideally be close to the chart values. If your dog's back is much shorter than the MIN value, the coat may slide backward (a "Yo" style), which may not be practical in the snow.

You can also validate the size by comparing the chart measurement to your dog's back length from the base of the tail while lifting it. If the measurement roughly matches the back of the front leg, it is a good indication that the size is correct.

Note: If, after these steps, you cannot find a suitable size, it is possible that your dog has proportions that do not fit our current models, especially if your dog has an atypical build.

Quick Guide:

A doodle or poodle of:

  • 38-42 lbs will likely wear a size 4 or 5 Z'Anorak.
  • 43-49 lbs will likely wear a size 5 or 6 Z'Anorak.
  • 50-55 lbs will likely wear a size 6 Z'Anorak.
  • 60-65 lbs will likely wear a size 6 or 7 Z'Anorak.
  • 65-75 lbs will likely wear a size 7 or 8 Z'Anorak.
